Meet Our Team

Todd Cummings

President

Todd Cummings is a results-oriented business leader who has been instrumental in managing the continued growth and success of Dustin. Todd joined the Dustin team in 1987 to work alongside his father-in-law and founder, Ron Dustin. He is accomplished in the areas of business development, project management, strategic planning, operations, financial analysis, safety, value engineering, and sustainability. Todd fosters relationships with architects, engineers, owners, and subcontractors. He is responsible for the successful completion of a diverse range of projects including educational facilities, churches, campus living, apartment complexes, parking garages, recreation centers, and community and government facilities ranging from $1M to over $150M.

Sarah Palmer

Executive Vice President

Sarah Palmer has almost two decades of professional experience at Dustin specializing in the areas of business development, project management and delivery, marketing, and risk resolution. Sarah oversees the operations of project teams through all phases of preconstruction and construction and has successfully completed an array of projects in the K-12, higher education, commercial, and local government sectors. Sarah’s attention to detail, leadership, and commitment to customer satisfaction brings superior quality to every Dustin project.

Matthew Evans

Vice President and Director of Construction

With more than 20 years of experience in the construction industry, Matthew Evans has forged relationships with clients in diverse markets including K-12, higher education, and county governments. Matthew is a consummate leader with expertise in all areas of construction and project management, including estimation, scheduling, safety, constructability reviews, and value engineering. He manages the strategic execution and delivery of Dustin projects while ensuring completion is on-time and within budget.

John Pickett

Director of Preconstruction

As Director of Preconstruction, John Pickett’s responsibilities include management of the estimating staff, preparation and assembly of bids and forms, generating subcontractor involvement, monitoring and developing minority and local business participation, subcontract awards and scope reviews, identification of upcoming job opportunities, providing budget updates to owners as necessary, value analysis and working with the project management team in constructability reviews. John is well-versed in developing budgets, value engineering, constructability reviews, as well as conducting scope reviews.

Melissa Hawkins

Director of Human Resources

Melissa Hawkins manages and leads all human resources functions, including employee relations, benefit programs, diversity initiatives, and compliance. She is an expert in conducting local outreach events and has a remarkable record for attracting, recruiting, and retaining new talent. In addition, Melissa oversees the execution of Dustin’s safety program ensuring our staff is properly trained in all facets of construction safety and have the tools necessary to keep on-site personnel safe.

Nathan Berch, CPA

Controller

As Controller, Nathan Berch is responsible for directing Dustin Construction’s financial and accounting activities. He oversees accurate and timely financial reporting, analyzes profitability, performs risk management, and leads strategic initiatives to achieve the financial goals of the company. Nathan is a Certified Public Accountant.
